Educational and Office Hours Consulting Sample Materials

Person Centered Tech is extremely proud of the quality of our educational materials. Our primary mission is promote your learning and independence while also providing the informational and emotional support that our colleagues need. This page is here to provide examples of the high standard of quality we employ in our materials.

The first 2 examples are from our core HIPAA & technology course, Engaging in HIPAA Security and Digital Confidentiality as a Mental Health Professional.

The final example is just one of thousands of consultation video clips taken from a session of Office Hours, the central service for Person Centered Tech membership.

Example 1: Video With Interactive Learning Exercises

This video uses interactive pop-up elements to reinforce important points and help you stay involved and remember the most important information:

This clip is from Engaging in HIPAA Security and Digital Confidentiality as a Mental Health Professional, which is included with Person Centered Tech membership, and is one of required courses for our Telemental Health Certificate Program.

Example 2: Article With Review Exercise

Some of our educational units use articles from the website. But we don’t just leave it at reading the article and moving along. After you read, we provide a variety of review exercises to help make sure the main points of the article are reinforced and understood. Here is one such example:

Article: Therapy Business Line on the Cheap?: HIPAA and “VoIP” Services The article will open in a new browser window. When you have finished reading, close that window, return here, and proceed to the review activity below. Open article →

Example 3: Office Hours Question Clip

The central benefit of Person Centered Tech membership is unfettered access to Office Hours. Office Hours sessions are organized into questions, and the recordings are split up into individual question clips for easier access and digestion. The following is one such clip (the question #9 clip, to be precise) from our June 14th, 2018 Office Hours session:

Question #9) When conducting TeleHealth therapy sessions, problems with video and/or audio clarity happen from time to time. I have seen you recommend that when video is not possible because of these issues, to have a backup plan to talk with your client, such as telephone. We spend a lot of time making sure we have a BAA and that the video software we use is HIPAA compliant, but then it seems like I’m missing something if we throw in the towel when video isn’t working and use cell phones to finish up the sessions. Is there a privacy issue with using cell phones to conduct the session?

This clip is from Office Hours, which is included with Person Centered Tech membership and happens 4 times every month!
